Q: How long does a typical drywall job take?

A single room can usually be hung, taped, and finished in 1–2 days. A whole house takes longer — typically 3–5 days for hanging and another 3–5 days for finishing. The finishing coats each need a full day to dry in between. Weather affects this timeline; Bakersfield's dry summers speed things up, while damp winters slow them down. We always give you a clear timeline estimate before we start.

Q: Can you match the existing texture on my walls?

Yes. Our crew works with all the common residential textures — Orange Peel, Knockdown, Skip Trowel, and smooth Level 5. The key is getting the right texture pattern and sheen so the repair blends invisibly with the surrounding wall. Send us a photo if you're not sure what texture you have, or we'll match it during our site visit.

Q: Do I need to leave my house while you're working?

In most residential projects, you don't need to leave. We keep the workspace clean and dust-controlled. There will be some disruption from the sanding and the noise of the tools, but we set up containment to keep the dust from spreading to the rest of the home. For large tear-out and drywall demolition, it's more comfortable to be elsewhere while we work.

Q: What's the difference between drywall and sheetrock?

Nothing. Sheetrock is a brand name. Drywall and Sheetrock are the same product — gypsum panels pressed between paper faces. Some people use the terms interchangeably, and that's fine. In the trades, we use "drywall" or "gypsum board" as the general terms.

Q: Is drywall dust dangerous?

Drywall dust can irritate the eyes, nose, and throat, especially during prolonged exposure. Our crew wears proper respiratory protection when sanding. As a homeowner, it's best to keep children and pets away from the active work area until the space is ventilated and cleaned. Good airflow and containment are how we manage the dust.
